INTRODUCTION

 

The State Universities Civil Service System is under the direction of the University Civil Service Merit Board.  The System's primary responsibility is to establish a sound program of personnel administration at State supported institutions of higher education and at certain allied agencies.  The System provides direct guidance and support services to universities/agencies in such areas as employment, examinations, classification plan management, salary administration, compliance audit reviews, disciplinary procedures and other business operations related to the management of support staff personnel.

 

This digest covers the compliance examination of the State Universities Civil Service System for the two years ended June 30, 2011.

 

There were no material findings of noncompliance disclosed during our examination. 

 

AUDITORS' OPINION

 

We conducted a compliance examination of the System as required by the Illinois State Auditing Act.  The System has no funds that require an audit leading to an opinion on financial statements.
